[In the evening, Blade can be found out in the central field. He's sitting on the top level of the amphitheater, gazing up at the cloudy sky. His vision of the stars may be obscured, but he's trying to find them anyway.]

Two constellations should be sufficient for navigating...

[He falls quiet when he notices Anaxa is nearby though, and changes to another thought.]

Do you think the sky will clear up?

[ As for Anaxagoras, he's taken to wandering - ergo, he will find himself in the same area eventually, feeling keen to finally slow his steps to take in his surroundings properly.

...It's a pity the sky is clouded, obscuring what must be a sky full of information in of itself. But perhaps as the days go by, that will change. Food for thought (he never seems to stop thinking such things.)

Such that when he hears the other speak this, he turns his head towards him. ]

...I don't think it's impossible. That said, am I wrong that it appears we may have been of the same mind?

After all, if we can locate what types of constellations lie in the night sky, there can be much to tell.

[ He's almost a little nostalgic. Anaxagoras used to have his reasons for liking to gaze upon the night sky himself, actually... ]

Mhmm! The starscape is a fascinating place. Even before I knew what I know now, I used the constellations to navigate the forest at night.

[He falls quiet for a moment, wishing he could look up to the stars once again. It might be fun to name new constellations here.]

Darling once told me that humans can travel to space in his world. Doesn't that sound amazing?

[ Even back in Amphoreus, it was fairly common to navigate a many place at night by the light of the constellations in the sky, even if in the end the truths enlightened the true matter behind its existence.

Here, he doesn't have his a telescope. He even wonders how his students are doing...but, ah well. ]

It is not only an 'amazing' feat, but it is entirely possible one.

Though, such a notion is something that still is hard for many back on Amphoreus to comprehend...perhaps it's more common and acceptable these days, however.

Now, while we're on the subject of different worlds, I hadn't realized this person was from another world than your own? Although, he somehow came to yours...?

[Blade has a bit of an interest in the stars and space travel, and he would talk about it endlessly if he had the chance. However, he goes with Anaxa's topic change without resistance.]

Sometimes things from other worlds fall to Klein like trash. Ku-Ku collects it even! But Darling was the first known person to come to my world from another one.

I don't know how though. Little Aster and Little Morvay were the ones to call him here. I didn't meet him until 4 months and 17 days after he arrived.

[ Fortunately, the topics are, essentially, kind of related.

As a person who holds such interest in those matters, he can't help but wonder...well, it isn't like he can't circle around to the topic properly. But, as Anaxagoras finally casts his gaze up towards the cloudy sky, his curiosity rises. ]

So you did not see him fall to this world while at any time you may have been taking watch of the sky. Therefore, the method to call someone could have involved an entirely separate process.

[ The particulars seem beyond Blade, however. ]

It sounds like quite the unique experience nonetheless. I assume also that Klein the name of your world? Or, is it your homeland?

It's a big mystery! Most people ignore the trash piles though.

[Listen. I don't write the rules of the game.]

Klein is a continent! I do live there now, but I was made on a different continent, Saia.

[ A huge mystery indeed.

But, generally ignoring the trash seems reasonable, so he moves right along. ]

Did you have a choice in moving from one continent to another?

Nope! I got sent on a secret mission to Klein, and then the Grand Sorcerer reprogrammed me to give me a new, even better mission.

[He is just cheerfully saying this like it isn't sus at all.]

[ ...it is extremely sus and he isn't certain that he's going to be fond of this so-called "Grand Sorcerer", his eyebrows furrowing as he listens to this.

This Sorcerer is just giving off small vibes of Lygus, or maybe he's just immediately thinking so because it is the entire sense that the Sorcerer is as trustworthy as that being. ]

...A secret mission?

But, then you were granted a 'new, even better one'? Neither one of them conflicted, and the new one didn't cause harm to your person?

Oh, they conflicted a lot. But when Grand Sorcerer Huey changed my core he changed my mission entirely.

It's for the best, looking back on it now my previous mission was not a good one. And my new one now means I get to make lots and lots of friends!

...What was your previous mission?

[ Anaxagoras figures that it bears inquiry, right? ]

To assassinate the Grand Sorcerer.

...That would have placed you in direct conflict with the person who had altered you completely.

[ If it is true and Huey wasn't making it up.

...He shouldn't be suspecting someone he doesn't know too much, though. ]

That being said, I have to wonder what your new mission is, then...?

week 0, post-trial

[ What a long day it was, huh?

Anaxagoras is trudging himself away from the excitement immediately, but somehow he ends up nearby the well at some point. As he is just about to move past it, he sees a certain someone... ]

...What are you doing?

[Blade is near the well, peering at it but not moving closer yet. The normally cheerful guy has a rather broody look on his face currently.]

Someone said they threw things in the well to get new things. Is it true?

It did. I don't know why the Saian government wanted Huey gone, but my creator was given the task to make me for that purpose.

[He closes his eyes for a moment, thinking. Remembering.]

Answers were never pertinent for my mission. I didn't even think to question it until long after Huey had changed my core. I was very, very different back then.

[He opens his eyes again and smiles.]

But instead of destroying me, Huey changed my programming so that I could learn and grow on my own. My mission now is to protect the Grand Sorcerer and help him regulate the gemstone altars, so that the essence of Klein doesn't fluctuate much. Too much fluctuation leads to natural disasters, which is what we're trying to prevent.

[ A broody expression on a usually lively person...it is odd to see, though not wholly unusual. ]

That's correct.

Were you looking to do the same? Or...does it bother you?

[ Bears worth asking, just in case. Given everything that's happened, just about anything seems possible. ]

There's something I want to find, so I thought I might try the well.

[This is factual, though the details are probably more important than he's letting on.]

[ Anaxagoras cannot make any judgments just yet on why such a government would desire for Huey to be removed from the picture, but he can make some guesses that it could be due to the man's status and personality.

All the while...it seems like he genuinely may not like things in the past? It seems like it could have been even more dodgy than it is now? Hmm. ]

So, in a sense, you feel that you owe him your allegiance.

Although, I imagine the current mission against whatever you're aligned with - the regulation of gemstone altars, that is - can have the potential for a number of difficulties as well, hm?

It can be! But there's nine of us protecting the current Grand Sorcerer, and all of us are really good at using essence magic. He's in safe hands~

[Talking about Eiden always cheers Blade up.]

I do owe a lot to Huey, but I'm a lot happier working with Eiden now.

[ ...They sound like something important - enough to grab Anaxagoras' curiosity. ]

Truthfully, I haven't heard of what happens when you're focusing on something you actually want.

While we're at it, what were you trying to find?

[ Well then.

Eiden seems like a good guy compared to Huey (he does not know how badly just yet but give it a few days), so he isn't exactly thinking of casting him underneath a veil of suspicion or anything like that.

...Thus far, anyway. ]

Nine is a rather safe number, especially if the individuals involved are talented themselves.

What's the best part about working with Eiden? Having made friends, or is it being proud of the work you do?

[A pause as he considers something.]

...maybe my sculpting tools if I can find them.

[That is a surprisingly loaded question, but Blade will spare Anaxa the mind-destroying details.]

Making friends is a big part! But Eiden is a really special person. Most people with a lot of power like that are arrogant or see people as tools. Huey was polite, but our bonds with him were a means to an end. With Eiden though, he loves and treasures all of us. He's right there with us, facing danger and protecting Klein. He takes interest in our hobbies and helps us with personal stuff, even if it's small things like reading together in the library or washing laundry together. It's hard not to cherish being with him.
